SUSTAINABILITY
Growing up with social and environmental awareness
Since its inception, Agrisos has worked to connect small producers with international markets. This generates benefits for both local communities and the company.
Thanks to this effort, we have implemented training and support programs that have benefited approximately 3,500 people in our region. In addition, we have a team of 60 people working regularly in our plant and offices. We are always looking for new ways to support our producers and discover new business opportunities with our partners.
SUPPORT FOR COMMUNITIES
Permanent support
Agrisos and its commitment to social responsibility:
Follows a social responsibility policy to support producers.
Helps between 1,500 and 3,500 people each year, directly or indirectly.
Promotes the participation of women in agricultural and plant work.
Creates seasonal jobs during harvest and pre-cleaning periods.
Agrisos implements improvement projects for roads, schools, and training in other areas.
Technical and logistical support
We offer several tools to improve producers’ work:
Certified seeds at low prices to ensure better harvests.
Technical assistance to improve productivity and promote sustainable farming.
Approved agrochemicals at affordable prices, since many small-scale farmers cannot access commercial credit.
Transportation service from the fields to collection centers.
Financial support
We also help ease the financial burden on producers:
We offer purchase advances to provide liquidity before the sale.
We guarantee the purchase of their production. If the market price increases by the time of delivery, we pay the updated price — not the one initially agreed upon.
Participación activa de la mujer
We recognize the vital role of women in both the productive system and the household:
Many land titles are in the name of women or shared jointly with their spouses as co-owners.
Women actively participate in meetings and associative activities.
We employ around 60 women year-round for manual sorting tasks, enabling them to generate additional income for their families.
Commitment to the environment
We take environmental care very seriously:
We promote direct seeding to protect soil health.
We encourage the use of crops that require fewer agrochemicals.
We provide low-toxicity agrochemicals and monitor their use constantly.
We promote crop rotation, such as with beans, which enrich the soil with nutrients.
We educate producers to avoid harmful practices like tree cutting and burning.
We support the use of organic farming practices in grain cultivation.
